Some quick housekeeping notes before you start eyeballing that delectable lobster roll or setting off on your first lighthouse tour....
Hello! Let us be the first to welcome you to Mind Games 2022, hosted by Maine Mensa.
Before you start eyeballing that delectable lobster roll or setting off on your first lighthouse tour, though, some quick housekeeping notes are in order to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable time while at the event.
Remember, kids, it's safety first, then teamwork at Mind Games 2022, so before anything else, be sure to review the event's Covid-19 safety policies. And if you have any questions not addressed below or on the Mind Games website, please contact Mind Games Chair Anne Allen. Let's get to it!

Arriving in South Portland
Whether you're arriving by plane, train, or automobile, your ultimate destination is the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel. Other than the occasional meal or off-site excursion, the DoubleTree will be our home for this four-day event. Look for the two Towers as you approach.

Review your hotel reservations
Don't forget to double-check your reservation!
All gameplay and event activities will be at the DoubleTree, but the Tru by Hilton and Hampton Inn Portland-Airport will both serve as event overflow hotels. Should you be staying at either overflow hotel, it's a good idea to plan your arrival accordingly.

Weather and what to pack
Cloudy (with a chance of meeples)
Snow's typically a thing of seasons past, but things don't really start heating up in Maine until later in the year, so you should expect mid-50s to low 60s while you're here. And keep in mind those April showers and chilly hotel conference spaces by packing a light raincoat for venturing out and your favorite cardigan for staying in.

I think I'm set. Anything else I should know?
Bags: packed. Vaccine card (or Covid test): At hand (or scheduled). Mask? One in pretty much every jacket pocket since April 2020. Nearby attractions and dinner spots: Scouted. We think you're ready.
Finally, don't forget to say you're going on Facebook and chat with other attendees and make your plan of attack on Mensa Connect. See you soon!
